Will Born-Again Majek Fashek Exorcise His Demons?

Change indeed is the only constant thing in life. Reports have it that the iconic reggae musician and famed rainmaker, Majek Fashek is now born-again.
That should be good news for his fans and ardent followers of his career as the reggae star who was the toast of reggae music followers in the 80s and early 90s has in the last three years or thereabout been a shadow of himself.
Majek Fashek who is still struggling to re-enact his sterling performance three weeks ago attended Christ Miracle Church Mission CMCM, in Ojodu Lagos. As the altar call was made, members of the church led by Prophet Peter Abiola Adebisi, JP were surprised to see the dreadlocked and African Bob Marley took a step forward to approach the altar in surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
According to a soft sell magazine, Majek was handed the microphone to do a song and he chose to sing for the congregation one of his classics,
‘Holy Spirit.’ Tears of joy streamed down some of the member’s faces in disbelief at the development.
We hope that Majek will use his new found faith to overcome his addiction and spiritual attacks, which he said was the cause of his problem. But according to a source close to Majek’s cousin and Jastix bandmate, Amos Mcroy, his problem seems to be more than his supposedly giving his life to Jesus. Amos Mcroy disclosed to a reporter that Majek’s problem was himself and his alleged oath to a certain covenant as rainmaker. He added that Majek who looks emaciated due to his diet will be delivered of the demons if he does justice to it. The musician often talks erratically and behaves irrationally but the moment he grabs his guitar, he becomes the reggae icon that he his know for dishing his hit tracks.
MajekFashek who will be 52 this year dominated the Nigerian music scene. The rainmaker started out as a member of the Jahstix band along with his cousin Amos Mcroy, now a pastor. His debut Album, ‘Prisoner of Conscience’ catapulted his career and life to the zenith.
His wife, Rita and one of his sons, Randy are believed to still reside in America from where his addiction problem is believed to have begun. Now under the management of A+ Entertainment, time will tell if the reggae star will make his new found spiritual status a reality and exorcise his demons.
