Reigning comic actor, Hafiz Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka who is fast proving himself as an enigma in the nation’s entertainment industry, is poised to take the centre stage as Opa Williams’ A Night of Thousand Laughs’ show berths in Lagos.
Opa Williams made this disclosure through his publicist, Media Image Managers, MIM.
For Opa, this year’s edition is bound to be a special one as the show which began in 1995, is marking its 18th anniversary on October 1, in Lagos.

“At 18, a child has become an adult and as such has to evolve in character and attain self-reliance. Against this backdrop, this year’s edition of ‘Nite of A Thousand Laughs’ will take on a different shape and size because at 18, we have attained adulthood.
We have stayed on top for 18 years as the premier comedy brand and you know staying on top is the hardest part of the game. No comedy show in Nigeria is above 13 years of age at the moment, but we have been able to sustain our dominance for 18 years,” Opa said, adding, “While we celebrate, we should also be mindful of the fact that people who troop out to watch our shows yearly deserve to get more value for their money every time they come out. So this year, we will ensure the audience members laugh a thousand times as the brand’s name implies.”
Speaking further, Opa assured that unlike the previous editions, this year’s Nite of A Thousand Laughs’ promises to be different . “It will not be about some comedians and musicians climbing the stage and entertaining the audience.”We are introducing something unique this year that will make the audience truly laugh a thousand times. But we are keeping that under the hat for now.”
With Saka making his debut at the show after the distinct roles he has played in movies, drama series, including his humorous advert campaigns for telecommunications company, Etisalat, and now, MTN, this year’s Nite of A Thousand Laughs promises to be nothing less in terms of fun and grooving.
